The St. Louis Blues…*sigh*…My New Dallas Stars

I love my Atlantic Division hockey.  I do.  I watch every division game I can.  Devils-Isles.  Flyers-Pens.  Rangers-Devils.  Whatever.  I love it. 

I also love my Western Conference hockey.  The two interests don’t conflict.  It’s a nice arrangement. 

For the last…oh…decade or so, my Western Conference team has been the Dallas Stars.  This is changing.  Rapidly.  Modano is retiring soon.  Winchester left.  Zubov is close to retiring.  They acquired Brad Richards (blegh).  Marty Turco is aging.  The only real ties I’ll have left to the Stars are Brenden Morrow, Loui Eriksson, and Steve Ott. 

My new team out West?  Why, the Blues of course!

David Backes!  TJ Oshie!  Patrik Berglund!  Cam Janssen!  Erik Johnson! 

Backes ate Salmela’s face in Worlds and loves adopting pregnant doggies.  Oshie looks like a baby seal and made Rick Nash forget his own name.  Twice.   Berglund is Swedish (my favorite country), blond, and spends most of his free time playing NHL 09.  Janssen has a really sexy voice and wishes he was Elvis.  Johnson gets in fights with golf carts, and loses.
